Managed service providers who find it difficult to obtain affordable insurance for their services can now get help from MSPAlliance, the International Association of Managed Service Providers, according to the group.

MSPAlliance has secured liability insurance for MSPs underwritten by Lloyd's of London and brokered by Hilb Rogal & Hobbs, according to Charles Weaver, president of MSPAlliance.

"When we were looking for insurance, our existing broker told us we could not find the coverage we needed for less than $40,000," said Jeffrey Nelson, managing partner of Anexio, an MSP based in Sarasota, Florida, in a statement. "Not only did we get better terms under the MSPAlliance's Professional Liability Insurance, we were able to obtain the coverage at less than one-tenth the cost."

The doctors and staff at the busy medical office didn’t know it, but their computer network’s server was dangerously low on data storage space. Finding the right software for a specific project is not always an easy task, and Robert’s broad range of experience makes him the natural go-to-guy to find the right software to get any new project started.

Jessica joins the Anexio Team as our new Technology Support Coordinator. She has spent the past four years in the information technology industry in primary support roles. She has assisted in server setup, network troubleshooting, and application support to name just a few.

Jessica obtained her A.S. in Computer Science from MCC while working the Help Desk at a large local company. Her hard work and thirst for knowledge paid off and she was promoted to Help Desk Coordinator, overseeing more than one hundred users in multiple locations.

She acquired her MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) in 2004, making her our technical “go to” girl. Jessica brings to Anexio a vast working knowledge in information technology, which will help us to better support our Private Clients.

ANEXIO UPGRADES DOWNTOWN PARTNERSHIP TECHNOLOGY: On April Seventh, The Downtown Partnership of Sarasota received a technology upgrade from Anexio, Inc. Anexio provided technology architecture and network integration services for The Partnership by upgrading and enhancing existing hardware and software.

Michelle Halt, Managing Partner of Anexio, Inc. says, "When we took a look at The Downtown Partnership's technology infrastructure, it was obvious that they had outgrown it and were frustrated with it. MICHELLE HALT ELECTED TO BOARD OF 82°: 82° Tech, a new technology advocacy group for Sarasota and Manatee counties, appointed a board of directors and elected officers recently, according to Dan Miller, the group's president.

Officers of 82 Degrees Tech include: Miller, president; Barney Guarino, Tempra Tech, vice president; Doug Goodman, Biolife, secretary; and Michele Halt, Anexio, treasurer.
82 Degrees Tech combines previously separate efforts of three different organizations in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The group’s name refers to the longitudinal line that goes through both counties, as well as the area’s balmy climate.

“We realized that our efforts would be more effective if we combined into one, bi-county organization,” said Miller, a partner in Startup Florida, an incubator and angel fund for technology companies. Previously, the interests of technology businesses were represented through groups working in economic development in each county, as well as a bi-county membership organization called the Suncoast Technology Alliance.

82 Degrees Tech will focus on: facilitating networking opportunities for the area’s technology companies; providing educational forums of interest to technology companies; increasing public awareness of the growing technology community the two-county area; and improving the business climate for technology companies by developing critical resources. The organization will receive administrative support from a partnership of the economic development organizations in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

WHOLE FOODS RECOGNIZES ANEXIO TECHNOLOGY EXPERTISE: Whole Foods Market, the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods, has recognized Anexio for its role in the technology integration of their newest store located in downtown Sarasota.

The Whole Foods Market Sarasota store is the first grocery store in the U.S. certified for "green building" status by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.Ds) and the first L.E.E.Ds certified store in the Whole Foods Market retail chain. Anexio assisted in the design and implemented the supporting technology of the entire facility. Anexio scope included voice/data cabling, security and TV cabling, audio/media planning and purchasing, computer/network design and purchasing, consulting and Technology planning.

The L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

ANEXIO COMPLETES NETWORK INSTALL AT THE SARASOTA CONVENTION CENTER & VISITORS BUREAU: Anexio was awarded and has successfully installed a new telecommunications system for the Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB). The new system is one of many successful VOIP (voice over the internet) phone systems installs for Anexio.

The Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau experiences hundreds of calls a day and requires access and video conferencing for remote users. The Comdial MP100 VOIP product was the right fit at the right price for the SCVB. Anexio will continue to service the phone system remotely after install. All adds/moves/changes to the system; moving of extensions, remapping of phone lines, etc will be done through Anexio’s Technology Support Center. A remote technician will never have to be physically present at the SCVB offices to service the system - a significant savings in time and money for the SCVB.

ANEXIO CHOSEN AS EDC TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT: Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Sarasota County has awarded Anexio the contract to manage their technology infrastructure. Anexio was awarded the network contract last September to outfit the newly founded corporation (once the Economic Development Council of Sarasota County, A Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce council). The EDC will be leaving its offices within the Chamber of Commerce for new offices in Oak Park.

Anexio will act as the Technology Architect for the move, providing technology design, voice/data cabling, phone system installation and service and the physical move of the existing technology infrastructure.
