Help is desperately needed for our neighbors, friends and family hit by Hurricane Charley. After visiting and observing the efforts of the Salvation Army, it is clear they are working hard to provide relief directly to the hard-hit areas ... and they need our help!

The YPG is encouraging everyone to get involved is some way. Below is a list of ways you can help.

What To Donate

There is a short but very critical list of items needed. Drop them off at the Salvation Army. They have trucks leaving every two hours going directly to hardest-hit areas delivering these desperately needed donations.

Drop these items off at:

Salvation Army Sarasota
1400 10th Street
Sarasota, FL 34230
Pamela Griffis
(941) 954-4673
Self Storage (Salvation Army Drop Spot)
1169 N. Beneva Road
Sarasota, FL 34232
Ann Walters
(941) 954-4673

Volunteers Needed

With every truck load of supplies that goes to the relief sites there are the volunteers who distribute the supplies. Volunteers are needed to work in every aspect of the relief effort. Answering phones, delivering supplies or working in the Canteen; no effort is too small. Some YPG members began volunteering Sunday am.

Call Pamela Griffis, Communications Director, to coordinate volunteering:
Tell her you are with the YPG. Office 941.954.4673 Cell 941.232.5045.

How Your Business Can Help

Businesses are needed to help make donating simple. Make your business a drop spot for people to leave donations. Any of the items above can be left at a “drop spot”. Efforts will be organized to pick up the items and deliver them to the Salvation Army.

Important!

YOU MUST SIGN UP VIA THIS WEB FORM ONLY. DO NOT CALL THE SALVATION ARMY TO SIGN UP. WE NEED TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF CALLS AND MANAGE THIS PROCESS EFFICIENTLY. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS/COMMENTS, ADD THEM TO THE COMMENTS BOX ON THE FORM AND YOU WILL BE CONTACTED. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.
